Market Commentaries

 

  • Equity market Summary

 

This week, market indexes (BRVM Composite & BRVM 10) are recorded a good performance (w/w). Indeed, at the end of this week’s session, BRVM Composite index gain 0.52% to stand at 156.49 points. Nevertheless, its annual performance is remains low at 8.87% when the P/E reached 10.16.

 

The total market value of shares traded this week was at XOF 877.925 million. Moreover, this week’s volume traded was 3 496 748 shares against 490 782 shares last week. The market breadth was ascending (w/w) with 12 gainers, 21 decliners and 7 shares unchanged. At the sector level, “Automotive Suppliers” was the best performer, growing by 14.42% at 14.80 points and the “Packaging” knew the strongest drop (-9.01%) at 21.79 points.

 

The best performances of the week were recorded by :

 

CFAO CI recorded a boost of 21.79% for a closing price of XOF 475. With a 19.34% up, PALM CI (XOF 1 080 FCFA) returned to growth after its poor performance the previous week. At this trading session, TRACTAFRIC MOTORS CI reached XOF 128 040 for a 7.50% increase. AIR LIQUIDE CI (XOF 375) with a total value of transaction XOF 1 205 150, showed an up of 7.14%. Finally, BOA NIGER reached XOF 3 500 for an improvement of 3.24%.

 

The worst performances of the week were recorded by :

 

FILTISAC CI showed the largest drop of the week (-11.00%) to XOF 1 335. In decline since the beginning of August, BERNABE CI (-10.14%) closed at XOF 1 550. At this trading session, CROWN SIEM CI fell by 6.98% to stand at XOF 200. The deterioration (-6.35%) observed on TOTAL SN (XOF 1 400), has induced the low performance recorded by the Oil & Gas Index which decline by 1.35 points. Finally, with down by 3.23%, ETI (XOF 16) confirm his bad trend posted for two weeks now.

 

  • Bond Market Summary

 

The bond market ended this week with a decrease by 0.56% at XOF 3 677.12 billion against XOF 3 697.86 billion last week. This down is mainly due to the partial reimbursement of the bond “TPBF 6.50% 2017-2027”. The total value traded on the market amounts to XOF 3.56 million for 358 bonds traded. The bond “TPTG 6.55% 2014-2022” with 200 bonds for XOF 2 million was the most liquid, representing 56.10% of the total value traded.
