  • Equity market Summary

 

This week, market indexes (BRVM Composite & BRVM 10) recorded a bad performance (w/w). Indeed, at the end of this week’s session, BRVM Composite index lost 1.28% to stand at 151.15 points. Also, its annual performance is remains low at 11.98% for a P/E reached 9.97.

 

The total market value of shares traded this week was at XOF 946.64 million. Moreover, this week’s volume traded was 1 679 795 shares against 4 359 946 shares last week. The market breadth was descending (w/w) with 24 decliners, 8 gainers and 14 shares unchanged. At the sector level, “Agro-processing” knew the strongest drop (-4.83%) at 28.15 points and the “Tobacco” was the best performer, growing by 3.53% at 12.37 points.

 

The worst performances of the week were recorded by:

 

CFAO CI (XOF 400) shows the strongest contraction with a drop of 8.05%. After several weeks of stagnation, NESTLE CI fell by 7.14% to XOF 650. With a second consecutive weeks in red, SUCRIVOIRE CI (XOF 610) which deteriorated by 6.87%, seems start a negative trend. At this trading session, SOGB CI lost 6.32% to stand at XOF 1 780. Finally, evolving from XOF 175 last Friday to XOF 165 this Friday, CROWN SIEM recorded a decrease of 5.71%.

 

The best performances of the week were recorded by:

 

SITAB CI (XOF 880) dominates this ranking with a raise of 3.53%. Note that the security recovers colors after several negative trading sessions. SIB CI, which recorded 2.30% up at XOF 2 450, remains in a positive cycle after three consecutive sessions in growth. This Friday, TOTAL SN (XOF 1 450) renew with growth by recording an improvement of +2.11%. Finally, SGB CI (+1.69%) for a closing price of XOF 9 000 and BOA BENIN (+1.23%) for a closing price of XOF 3 695 were recorded XOF 133 272 095 as a total transaction value.

 

  • Bond Market Summary

 

The bond market ended this week with an increase of 3.10% at XOF 3 859.74 billion against XOF 3 743.50 billion last week. This up is mainly due to the first listing of the bond “ETAT DU MALI 6.50% 2019-2027”. The total value traded on the market amounts to XOF 1.93 billion for 193 272 bonds traded. The SUKUK “ETAT DU SENEGAL 6.00% 2016-2026” with 115 000 bonds for XOF 1.15 billion were the most liquid, representing 59.57% of the total value traded.
