Market Commentaries

 

  • Equity market Summary

 

This week, market indexes (BRVM Composite & BRVM 10) recorded a bad performance (w/w). Indeed, at the end of this week’s session, BRVM Composite index lost 1.65% to stand at 140.00 points. Also, its annual performance is remains low at 18.48% for a P/E reached 9.50.

 

The total market value of shares traded this week was at XOF 867.58 million. Moreover, this week’s volume traded was 344 959 shares against 589 382 shares last week. The market breadth was descending (w/w) with 28 decliners, 8 gainers and 10 shares unchanged. At the sector level, “Packaging” knew the strongest drop (-7.01%) at 16.17 points and the “Food & Beverage” was the best performer, growing by 1.39% at 33.89 points.

 

The worst performances of the week were recorded by:

 

BOA MALI (XOF 820) which shows the most substantial decrease of the week, thus confirm its actual bad trend with a collapsed of 20.39%. At this trading session, BERNABE CI decreased by 20.16% to reach XOF 1 030. CROWN SIEM CI, which declined by 11.76% to XOF 800, drove the Packaging sector index down by 1.22 point. In a negative cycle since several weeks, SAPH CI (-6.54%) continues its decline to stand at XOF 1 000 today. Finally, CFAO CI (-5.88%) doesn’t confirm its solid performance of the last week and loses XOF 25 to stand at XOF 400.

 

The best performances of the week were recorded by:

 

SERVAIR ABIDJAN CI (9.70%) which has been in a good-trend since two weeks, recorded the strongest performance to a closing price of XOF 1 300. With a volume traded of 29 shares, SOLIBRA CI (XOF 43 105) is up by 7.49%. Over the reference period, CORIS BANK I. and BOA BENIN respectively evolved by +4.12% to XOF 7 700 and +2.71% to XOF 3 600. Finally, T. MOTORS CI (+2.50%), following the announcement of its share split, closed to XOF 123 000.

 

 

  • Bond Market Summary

 

The bond market closed this week with an increase of 1.58% at XOF 3 956.19 billion against XOF 3 956.19 billion last week. This up is mainly due to the first listing of the bond issue “TPNE 6.50% 2019-2026”. The total value traded on the market amounts to XOF 364.49 million for 36 593 bonds traded. The bond “TPBF 6.50% 2018-2025” with 30 001 bonds for XOF 300.01 million have been the most liquid, representing 82.31% of the total value traded.
