Market Commentaries

 

  • Equity market Summary

 

This week, market indexes (BRVM Composite & BRVM 10) recorded a good performance (w/w). Indeed, at the end of this week’s session, BRVM Composite index gain 0.73% to stand at 141.02 points. However, its annual performance is remains low at 17.88% for a P/E reached 9.28.

 

The total market value of shares traded this week was at XOF 1.549 billion. Moreover, this week’s volume traded was 706 169 shares against 344 959 shares last week. The market breadth was ascending (w/w) despite of 23 decliners, 11 gainers and 12 shares unchanged. At the sector level, the “Automotive Suppliers” was the best performer, growing by 5.48% at 14.04 points and “Edition Publication” knew the strongest drop (-12.50%) at 159.67 points.

 

The best performances of the week were recorded by:

 

CFAO CI (XOF 445) which recorded the strongest performance of the week by returning in the growth after its underperformance of the last week. At this trading session, NSIA BANQUE CI (8.61%) recorded a second consecutive weeks of increase by standing at XOF 3 215. With a volume traded of 120 shares, CROWN SIEM CI (+6.67%) evolved from XOF 150 to XOF 160. Finally, CORIS BANK INTERNATIONAL (XOF 8 000) and BOA COTE D’IVOIRE (XOF 2 600 FCFA) closed the week at +3.90% and +3.59% respectively.

 

The worst performances of the week were recorded by:

 

SERVAIR ABIDJAN (XOF 1 105) which shows the most substantial decrease of the week, returns to red with a collapse of 15.00%. NEI CEDA CI declined by 12.50% to XOF 210 and drove Edition Publication sector index down by 22.81 points. SOLIBRA CI (-9.87%) doesn’t confirm its performance of the last week and loses XOF 4 255 to stand at XOF 38 850. At this trading session, NESTLE CI declined by 6.90% to stand at XOF 540. Finally, SOGB CI decreased by 5.48% to reach XOF 1 725.

 

 

  • Bond Market Summary

 

The bond market closed this week with a slight increase of 0.01% at XOF 4 018.91 billion against XOF 4 018.53 billion last week. This increase is mainly due to the gain of XOF 17 on the price of the bond issue “ETAT DU MALI 6.20% 2016-2023”. The total value traded on the market amounts to XOF 3.137 billion for 402 500 bonds traded. The bond “ETAT DU MALI 6.20% 2016-2023” with 267 000 bonds for XOF 1.78 billion have been the most liquid, representing 56.74% of the total value traded.
