Market Commentaries

 

  • Equity market Summary

 

This week, market indexes (BRVM Composite & BRVM 10) recorded a good performance (w/w). Indeed, at the end of this week’s session, BRVM Composite index gained 0.92% to stand at 141.68 points. Nevertheless, its Year to date annual performance reduced to 17.50% for a P/E reached 9.41.

 

The total market value of shares traded this week was at XOF 1.810 billion. Moreover, this week’s volume traded was 470 646 shares against 1 245 860 shares last week. The balance of variation showing 18 gainers, 15 decliners and 18 shares unchanged. Infrastructure sector was the best performer, growing by 4.50% at 36.54 points and the Tobacco sector knew the strongest drop (-6.67%) at 9.84 points.

 

The best performances of the week were recorded by:

 

Banking and Financial Institutions sector, indeed, BICICI (XOF 6 890) and BOA BENIN (XOF 2 990) showed the strongest performance of the week with push of 24.14% and 10.74% respectively. In a positive cycle since two weeks now, SIB CI (XOF 2 800) grew by 9.80%. BOA CI (+9.25%) reached a closing price of XOF 2 835. Finally, NSIA BANQUE CI rose by 9.06% to stand at XOF 3 490.

 

The worst performances of the week were recorded by:

 

SMB CI (-14.75%) which shows the most substantial drop of the week, stood to XOF 2 600. The decline of 0.59 point observed in Food & Beverage sector index, was induced by the underperformance of NESTLE CI (XOF 410) which reduced by 7.87% on the reference period. CROWN SIEM CI (XOF 130) ends negatively this November month with to -7.14%. At this trading session SITAB CI (XOF 700) fell by 6.67%. Finally, VIVO ENERGY CI, contracted by 6.67% to reach XOF 700.

 

 

  • Bond Market Summary

 

The bond market closed this week with a decrease of 0.45% at XOF 4 133.34 billion against XOF 4 151.88 billion last week. This decrease is mainly due to the different partials reimbursements of the capital of bonds “EOS 06, EOS 07, TPBJ 02 and TPBF 03”. The total value traded on the market amounts to XOF 1.193 billion for 125 662 bonds traded. The bond “TPBF 6.50% 2017-2024” with 100 000 bonds for XOF 1 billion, have been the most liquid, representing 83.78% of the total value traded.
