  • Equity market Summary

 

This week, market indexes (BRVM Composite & BRVM 10) recorded a bad performance (w/w). Indeed, at the end of this week’s session, the BRVM Composite index lost 0.16% to stand at 141.91 points. Also, its Year to date annual performance reduced to 17.36% for a P/E reached 9.31.

 

The total market value of shares traded this week was at XOF 1.139 billion. Moreover, this week’s volume traded was 455 149 shares against 470 646 shares last week. The balance of variation showing 22 decliners, 13 gainers and 11 shares unchanged. The Chemical sector knew the strongest drop (-12.24%) at 11.17 points and the Transport sector was the best performer, growing by 7.62% at 35.04 points.

 

The worst performances of the week were recorded by:

 

AIR LIQUIDE CI (-12.24%) which showed the most substantial drop of the week, stood at XOF 215. With a closing price of XOF 1 075, BOA MALI fell by 9.66%. SODECI (XOF 2 600) begins negatively this December month with a down of 8.77%. The decline of 0.54 point observed in the Packaging sector index, was induced by the underperformance of CROWN SIEM CI (XOF 120) which reduced by 7.69% on the reference period. Finally, BICICI (XOF 6 375), after two consecutive weeks of increase, contracted by 7.47% at this trading session.

 

The best performances of the week were recorded by:

 

BOLLORE CI, which showed the strongest performance of the week, with a push of 15.83% and a reference price of XOF 1 610. The securities of the Banking and Financial Institutions sector stand out again this week. Indeed, BOA CI (XOF 3 220), ECOBANK (XOF 3 390), BOA BURKINA FASO (XOF 3 550) and BOA NIGER (XOF 3 100) achieved growth rates of 13.58%, 13.38%, 10.94%, and 10.71% respectively. These increases are mainly due to the various publications of activities relating to the third quarter of 2019.

 

  • Bond Market Summary

 

The bond market closed this week with an increase of 0.20% at XOF 4 141.74 billion against XOF 4 133.34 billion last week. This up is mainly due to the first listing of bond “DIASPORA BONDS BHS 6.25% 2019-2024”. The total value traded on the market amounts to XOF 6.376 billion for 652 017 bonds traded. The bond “TPCI 5.75% 2019-2026” with 400 002 bonds for XOF 3.84 billion have been the most liquid, representing 60.22% of the total value traded.
