Poor Trends in the U.S. Suggest Saturation

In this report, we update our view on SBUX shares following 1QFY18 results.  We briefly touch on China and the opportunity.  However, most of our comments focus on the U.S. business and possible explanations for transaction weakness at same-stores.  We offer an alternative narrative for recent results and discuss the correct course of action based on our opinion.  We also discuss our outlook for the shares.
