CEE Equity Navigator January 2021

NGEU transfers should help economic recovery in CEE in the short term and boost the growth potential in the mid- to long term, leading to an increase in investor interest.
We expect the Polish equity market to be relatively supported by FY 21e earnings growth (median of +15.6% yoy in our coverage universe), while the WIG 20 trades at a 21% discount vs. Stoxx Europe 600, a notch deeper than the 7-year average of 19%.
Romanian valuations are still attractive and we reckon with a gradual return to standard dividend distribution policies, however the fiscal risk remains significant.
We note that in Croatia, a top recipient of NGEU funds (ca. 16% of FY 21e GDP), portfolios are over-proportionally oriented towards bonds and money-market instruments and we reckon with a shift towards equities.
Top picks: CEZ, Digi Communications, Eurocash, Lotos and Magyar Telekom
