Unipro 1Q 20 Earnings Preview - Weak quarter affected by generation slump, prices
On May, 7, the company is going to publish its 1Q 20e IFRS results, which we expect to be weaker yoy from top line to bottom on the back of lower production and generation.Weather and hydropower generation take a toll on GenCos: The electricity production in 1Q 20 was down by 12% yoy, whereas the average day-ahead-market electricity price for Unipro was 6-7% down yoy, which should have been a result of higher yoy cheap hydropower generation by RusHydro as well as warmer yoy weather.
E.ON Russia is engaged in the wholesale electricity market, it produces and sells electric and heat power. As of Dec. 31, 2012, the structure of Co. includes five heat power plants with the total installed capacity of 10,345 MW/2,125.9 Gcal/h: Surgutskaya GRES-2 (Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area, Tyumen Region), Berezovskaya GRES (Krasnoyarsk Territory), Shaturskaya GRES (Moscow Region), Smolenskaya GRES (Smolensk Region) and Yaivinskaya GRES (Perm Territory).
