Macro: COVID-19 Update: Responses to coronavirus in CEE - restrictions, monetary and fiscal measures as of 24 March

This slide deck provides an overview of restrictions and economic, fiscal and monetary measures in Central, South Eastern and Eastern Europe (CEE), Austria, Germany and the USA. The data is collected by Raiffeisen RESEARCH analysts based in CEE countries and in Austria and is continuously updated.

Latest changes of measures and restrictions in CEE of 24th March
Poland: New movement restrictions with leaving home allowed only if necessary (aimed at preventing gatherings in parks, public spaces), 2 persons limit for meetings, 50% occupancy limit for public transport
Romania: 1. no penalties would be requested for taxes due during the state of emergency period and that are not paid in time; 2. NBR will change the prudential bank regulations as to fully support the steps taken by the banking system to assist individuals and companies affected by the crisis, through appropriate measures in order to ease ongoing loan repayments and to facilitate access to new lines of credit.
USA: USD 700 bn limit on asset purchases lifted. Fed buys Treasuries and MBS as much as needed for markets to function properly. New facilities regarding corporate bonds and ABS initiated.
