Macro: Update_COVID19_CEE_OverviewMeasures_30_06_2020

This slide deck gives you an updated overview of restrictions and economic, fiscal and monetary measures in Central, South Eastern and Eastern Europe (CEE), Austria, Germany and the USA. The data is collected by Raiffeisen RESEARCH analysts based in CEE countries and in Austria and is continuously updated.
Recent developments:
- New cases: New daily cases are on the rise in the SEE region; in the CE region the tendency is falling again, mainly due to positive developments in PL, although the infections are rising again in CZ and a regional cluster emerged in SK; The EE countries seem to continue their downward trend.
- Easing restrictions: New restrictions measures were introduced in SRB; Other countries have postponed the easing of restrictions (RO, BG) or tightened border controls with affected areas (HR).
- Support measures: In PL over PLN 100bn has already been released within the anticrisis measures. Meanwhile 4th amendment to the „anticrisis shield was passed. New elements include subsidies to loan interest, official moratorium program for those who lost their main source of income due to pandemic, funds for local governments. In SRB all citizens received EUR 100 in support.
- Economic data shows low-point in April; industrial output and retail sales decline across the regions, but CE and RO industry hit most vs RU, while retail sales slumps more in SEE vs CE. Unemployment rates still stabilised in many countries by job retention schemes in place. Unemployment rate increase has so far been muted (HU, PL) but may accelerate going forward.
