Turkey - ODD Data July 2022 Comment
Automotive Sales in July• According to Automotive Distributors’ Association (ODD) data, auto market (PC + LCV) increased by 9.1% y/y to 52,206 units in July 2022. (July 2021: 47,849) While the passenger car sales were 41,031 units (up by 13.0% y/y), LCV sales realized at 11,175 (down by 3.1% y/y).
• TOASO’s sales realized at 13,765 units, up by 88% y/y. TOASO’s PC sales were up by 127% y/y, and its LCV sales also increased by 19% y/y. TOASO’s market share increased to 26.4% in July compared to 22.5% in June.
• FROTO’s sales were down by 9% y/y to 4,530 units. FROTO’s PC and LCV sales contracted by 34% and 5% y/y, respectively. FROTO’s market share reached to 8.7% in July compared to 8.2% in June.
• DOAS’s sales contracted by 19% y/y to 7,591 units. DOAS’s PC sales decreased by 18% y/y, and its LCV sales were also down by 28% y/y. DOAS’s market share increased to 14.5% in July compared to 12.4% in June.
• We think that monthly data might have a slightly positive impact on TOASO considering the unit growth and market share increase.
