Turkey Wake-up call: Macro, Political and Equity News, 12th May

BIST lost 1.45% yesterday with the selling pressure intensifying following the US inflation data. Banks declined 1.69% on average as HALKB and GARAN held up better while VAKBN, YKBNK and AKBNK was weaker. TUPRS, KRDMD, ARCLK, ENKAI, and ISGYO stood out among the rare gainers in the BIST100 space while ECILC, AGHOL, DOHOL, PGSUS, ULKER, YATAS, and ALARK topped the long array of decliners. Coming to this morning, our local macro and political agenda are muted. BIST seems off to a negative open given the weak sentiment abroad. U.S. futures are down 0.2% in early trades on top of the 1.0-1.6% losses recorded yesterday. Asian bourses are almost all trading in the red.,
