Turkey Wake-up call: Macro, Political and Equity News, 13th April

BIST added 0.60% yesterday as Turkish stocks recovered after 3:30PM from their earlier slump. Banks yielded to profit taking with the 0.12% loss for their sector index while the strength in YKBNK made up for most of the losses in peers. SAHOL, THYAO, PGSUS, TUPRS, VESTL, VESBE, AGHOL, AYDEM, ODAS, and MAVI topped the non-bank gainers while TCELL, EKGYO, KCHOL, ISGYO, ISMEN, DOAS, GUBRF, and GOZDE stood out among the weaker BIST100 constituents. Coming to this morning, our local macro and political agenda are muted. We predict a slight positive start for the BIST given a better sentiment for global risk assets this morning. U.S. futures are up c.0.8% in early trades in reversal of the overnight losses after we left and Asian bourses are almost all trading in the green.
