Turkey Wake-up call: Macro, Political and Equity News, 21st June

BIST added 0.23% yesterday, as strong gains towards the closing hours reversing the losses in the morning and around mid-day. Banks were weaker with the 0.19% drop in their sector index amid pressure on ISCTR and AKBNK. PGSUS, TKFEN, GENIL, THYAO, ODAS, GUBRF, and MGROS led the non-bank gainers while ISDMR, OYAKC, ISGYO, KRDMD, ISMEN, and EREGL stood out among the decliners in the BIST100 universe. Coming to this morning, our local macro and political agenda are muted, the meeting of the Saudi prince with President Erdogan tomorrow is in the focus of the domestic markets. We foresee a positive start for the BIST given the supportive mood in global peers. S&P futures are up around 1.0% in early trades, and Asian bourses outside of China are mostly trading in the green this morning.
