Turkey Wake-up call: Macro, Political and Equity News, 24th August
BIST 100 gained 1.9% yesterday, driven by the 7.77% jump in the banking sector index. KCHOL, TUPRS, FROTO, TCELL, CANTE, AEFES and ISDMR topped the non-bank gainers in the BIST100 universe while GUBRF, CCOLA, PGSUS, ENKAI, OYAKC, TTRAK and AGHOL stood out among the non-bank decliners for the day. Coming to this morning, we have a muted economic and political agenda. We anticipate an uptick start for the BIST with the continuation of yesterday's movement amid the sour sentiment in global bourses. U.S. futures are down c.0.2% in early trades and Asian bourses are mostly trading in the red.
