Turkey Wake-up call: Macro, Political and Equity News, 28th April

BIST added 1.31% yesterday in its third consecutive day of gains. BIST100 index opened on an uptick that marked its lowest point for the day and quickly climbed to the 1,390 mark, around which it spent most of the day. Banks lost 0.60% on average and were again the drag on the broader market. CCOLA, VESTL, TAVHL, ASELS, ARCLK, ISMEN, and MAVI topped the gainers while TTRAK, DOAS, TKNSA, ODAS, and BRSAN were among the fewer decliners. Coming to this morning, our local macro and political agenda are mostly quiet. BIST seems off to a slight positive start given similar moves in most peer markets ahead of tonight's FED decision. Lira is a tad weaker with USDTRY pair around 8.2350 mark vs 8.2127 at yesterday's closing bell.
