Turkey Wake up call: Macro, Political and Equity News, 29th July
BIST retreated 3.6% yesterday, led by the banking sector, as the banking index contracted by 4.5%, while the industrials declined by 3.1%. FROTO, ENJSA, BIMAS, ARCLK and VESTL topped the gainers while ODAS, GUBRF, IPEKE, VAKBN, TRKCM stood out as weaker spots among non-banks. We anticipate a negative open for the BIST. We kindly remind that the BIST will be closed in observance of the Eid holiday after a half-day trading tomorrow until next Tuesday morning. Accordingly, trades of today and the half-day session of tomorrow will settle together on Wednesday, 05-August.
