Turkey Wake-up call: Macro, Political and Equity News, 2nd September

BIST eked out a 0.14% gain after a day mostly spent in the positive territory. Some profit taking was evident in banks which lost 0.36% on average. TUPRS, THYAO, DOAS, AEFES, ENJSA, ODAS, and ZOREN topped the non-bank gainers while EREGL, SISE, SAHOL, ASELS, ISMEN, and KRVGD were some of the weak spots. We have a mostly muted local agenda this morning and we foresee a flattish start for the BIST in absence of visible triggers from abroad. S&P futures are trading marginally lower in early trades while Asian markets present a rather mixed picture.
