Turkey Wake-up call: Macro, Political and Equity News, 8th April

BIST climbed 1.24% yesterday as the bulls returned flexing their muscles after a one-day breather on Wednesday. Benchmark BIST100 spent the entire day in positive territory and banks that gained 3.63% on average were a visible contributor this time amid strength in YKBNK and ISCTR. THYAO, SISE, KRDMD, ASELS, OYAKC, GLYHO, HEKTS, ALARK, and DOHOL stood out among the non-bank gainers in the BIST100 space while Koza Group stocks, TOASO, FROTO, TUPRS, and AKSA were some of the fewer decliners. Today, our local macro agenda showcases CBT's monthly expectations survey of market participants to be revealed at 10AM local time. We foresee another positive open for the BIST on continued local momentum as well as the 0.7-0.9% overnight gains in main American indices after we left. S&P futures are barely changed in early trades while Asian bourses are mostly trading with small gains for the day.
