Turkey Wake-up call: Macro, Political and Equity News, 9th October

BIST inched down 0.17% yesterday after a day mostly spent in the negative territory. Banks lost 0.29% on average with YKBNK, VAKBN, and GARAN underperforming their peers. TUPRS, CCOLA, AYGAZ, TAVHL, SELEC, TATGD, DOHOL, DOCO, TRGYO, and ISGYO topped the non-bank gainers while ASELS, TTKOM, MGROS, GUBRF, MPARK, AKSEN, ALKIM, NETAS, and KOZAA stood out among weaker spots. Coming to this morning, we have a muted local macro agenda. BIST is off to a slight positive open as a new round of U.S. stimulus talks is lifting up global equity markets and lira is stable around the 7.94 mark against the dollar. U.S. futures are up 0.4% in early trades and Asian markets outside of Japan are mostly trading in the green.
