Kapsch TrafficCom 1Q 20/21 - More cautious management outlook
The final 1Q 20/21 results matched the preliminary release on revenues (down 26% to EUR 138.5 mn) and EBIT (EUR -11.3 mn vs. last year's positive EUR 4.6 mn). The quarterly net loss amounted to EUR -10.3 mn. On a positive note, heralded impairment tests apparently did not result in write-offs and management initiated a cost cutting programme in the EUR double-digit millions, but at the same time the CEO admitted that achieving a positive EBIT for the FY 20/21 has become much more challenging than originally anticipated.Kapsch TrafficCom is an international supplier of superior intelligent transportation systems (ITS). Co. subdivided into the following three segments: Road Solution Projects; Services, System Extensions, Components Sales; and Others. The segment Road Solution Projects relates to the installation of ITS solutions. The segment Services, System Extensions, Components Sales relates to the sale of services and components in the area of ITS solutions. The segment Others relates to non-core business activities conducted by Kapsch Components KG. In this segment, Co. offers engineering solutions, electronic manufacturing and logistics services to affiliated entities and third parties.
