Through its Capitol Federal Savings Bank subsidiary, the company accepts deposits from the public and businesses and invests those funds in permanent loans secured by first mortgages on owner-occupied, one- to four-family residences. The company also originates and participates in commercial loans, originates consumer loans secured by mortgages on one- to four-family residences, and invests in certain investment securities and mortgage-backed securities. The company provides a variety of deposit accounts, which include savings accounts, money market accounts, interest-bearing and non-interest-bearing checking accounts, and certificates of deposit.
