Ramsdens Holdings is a financial services provider and retailer. Co. has four segments: foreign currency, which comprises the sale and purchase of foreign currency notes to holiday makers; pawnbroking, which consists of asset backed lending where an item of value, known as a pledge, (in Co.'s case jewelry and watches), is given to the pawnbroker in exchange for a cash loan; purchases of precious metals, which consists of buying unwanted jewelry, gold and other precious metals from customers for cash; and jewelry retail, which sells new and second hand jewelry. Co. also provides services in cheque cashing, Western Union money transfer, and sale and buy back of electronics, among others.
