Belden- 1Q18 - Encouraging results, but negative revenue mix weighing on margin expansion
Belden, the US manufacturer of cables, connectivity and networking products, released encouraging 1Q18 results. Yoy sales and EBITDA were up 10% to $607m and 11% to $103m respectively, boosted by favourable currency translation and acquisitions, while EBITDA margin edged up 10bps to 17.0%.
Belden is a global supplier of networking solutions built around two global business platforms: Enterprise Solutions and Industrial Solutions. The company's portfolio of solutions enables customers to transmit and secure data, sound, and video for mission critical applications across complex enterprise and industrial environments. The company's Enterprise Solutions segment provides network infrastructure solutions, as well as cabling and connectivity solutions for commercial audio/video and security applications. The company's Industrial Solutions segment provides networking components and machine connectivity products.
