​Still underperforming the UK market but narrowing the gap in Q3

Similarly to the disappointing H1, New Look has published very weak 3Q16/17 results for the period ended December 24, 2016, although the decline in LFL sales improved sequentially (-4.6% in Q3 vs. -8.4% in H1). The group was again pressured by the challenging UK retail market conditions with lower UK consumer confidence and reduced footfall. After missing on a few product categories in H1, New Look has revised its strategy in order to adapt to the new consumer pattern "buy now, wear now" driven by social media (as opposed to more seasonal purchases).
