Hirose Electric and its subsidiaries are engaged in the manufacture and sale of connectors. Co. operates in two business segments. Multi-pin connectors segment provides circular and rectangular connectors, connectors for ribbon cables, connectors for printed circuit boards and nylon connectors. The applications of these connectors include mobile phones and smartphones, digital information consumer electronics, PCs, communications equipment and automotive electronics. Coaxial connectors segment provides connectors for microwave and other high-frequency signals as well as optical fiber connectors and coaxial switches. In addition, Co. provides medical electronics equipment and micro switches.
