QTS was founded in 2003 by Chad Williams and was listed in the NYSE stock exchange in October 2013. It operates as a Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT). Through its data centers, QTS provides the network and the demanded infrastructure through which its clients can perform their continued IT operations. In addition, it differentiates its services depending on the customer’s specified needs. The firm’s clientele is comprised of businesses of all sizes, including Fortune 1000 companies and small business. The company leases its data center space to its clients and at the same time it offers them more specific products that fit their needs (public sector solutions that comply to federal data usage regulations are an example). More specifically, its main products are hybrid colocation, which is a combination of data center presence and cloud services and hyperscale colocation. The company is well established in the United States as it operates data centers in the top data center markets. It also manages data centers in The Netherlands and Canada.
