CEO Discusses New Auto-First Strategy and the Next Six to 12 Months
On May 17, we held a fireside chat with AEye CEO Matt Fisch. This report contains a transcript of the conversation, which can be accessed on demand. Fisch talked about his decision to join AEye earlier this year, which included: an opportunity to build new technology for the auto market, to be involved with a very strong team, superior technology, and business model, and to be involved with a great partner in Continental. Fisch highlighted that execution will be the focus for the next few quarters. The next steps are proving: (1) along with Continental "through design validation" that the product is reliable and can operate inside an automobile for 10+ years; and (2) that the product can be manufactured at scale. This year is about getting the product out and integrated into OEM systems and vehicles. Fisch sees the OEM opportunities this year being on order of 5 million to 10 million units demand for LiDAR systems...
