Aspira Women's Health Hosts R&D Day; Updates on Ovarian Cancer and Endometriosis Tests

Aspira Women’s Health hosted an R&D Day and discussed updates on its non-invasive diagnostic platforms for ovarian cancer and endometriosis. CEO Nicole Sandford led the discussion, and was joined by Chief Scientific Officer Dr. Jody Berry, PhD, and one of Aspira’s medical advisors and research partners, Dr. Kevin Elias, MD. Aspira also discussed the domestic market potential for both ovarian cancer and endometriosis products, which it estimates is more than $1.5 billion. For ovarian cancer, the company discussed the diagnostic dilemma with this disease. Traditional diagnostic methods are ineffective. Surgical biopsies cannot be done here, and ultrasound alone is not definitive. Once the cancer reaches late stages, successful cure rates are low. Endometriosis also presents another diagnostic dilemma. The symptoms of endometriosis overlap with those in other conditions. Given the lack of non-invasive diagnostic tools until now, women with this condition are left to suffer with painful symptoms. Aspira discussed the innovative technology behind these diagnostic tools and updated the further development of both product families. Finally, Aspira shared the positive responses by clinicians who are currently using these diagnostics. The company also talked about its plans to expand its current customer base to new clinicians and healthcare centers.
