Water Tower Hour Recap

Enthea CEO and Co-Founder Sherry Rais joined The Water Tower Hour Podcast. Privately held Enthea, a third-party administrator (TPA), is the first and currently only provider of health benefit plans that cover psychedelic-assisted therapies as a workplace benefit. Enthea’s medical coverage policies are currently limited to ketamine, although the company intends to embrace MDMA, psilocybin, and other psychedelic-assisted therapies when they are legalized. Rais explained what inspired her to start Enthea. Rais described how her previous experience in developing property reduction strategies brought her to sharpen her focus on mental health, discover psychedelic-based therapies as a solution, and find ways to give people greater access to those therapies. Filling a gap. Rais made the case for why Enthea exists amid the hitherto reticence of large insurers from covering ketamine-assisted therapy. Rais spelled out Enthea’s first mover advantage in providing psychedelic coverage and shared her thoughts on the market opportunity for the company, its focus on growth, and on taking Enthea public down the road. The podcast included Rais’ take on other issues affecting the space, including reasons why clinics are struggling financially amid the therapeutic excitement surrounding ketamine and other psychedelics, and her thoughts on big pharma’s reaction to the emergence of psychedelics, starting with ketamine.
