Base Metals - Copper hit by sharp rise in visible stocks

Base metals prices were initially hit by a near 30% increase in LME copper stocks.
Whereas copper has stabilised at the lower levels, some of the others have more than bounced, as the US dollar weakened. The copper price is now four and a half cents per pound ($/lb.) easier at $3.135/lb.; nickel jumped twenty five cents/lb. to $5.80/lb.; aluminium lost a half cent/lb. to $1.01/lb.; lead is up one cent/lb. at $1.19/lb. and zinc has gained a half cent/lb. at $1.565/lb.
