Sector Overview - Drifting into the weekend

Gold and silver prices rallied after hours in New York and were supported by a new North Korean missile. The gold price is nearly US$10 per ounce ($/oz) better at $1,330/oz; silver recovered almost ten cents/oz to just below $17.80/oz; platinum bounced just less than $10/oz to $980/oz; but palladium was weak and fell $15/oz to just under $920/oz. As sterling was very strong following Bank of England hints of interest rate rises to come, the local gold price was very weak and fell almost £10/oz to just over £990/oz.
