Precious metals were a bit easier on profit taking, with the gold price off nearly US$10 per ounce ($/oz) at $1,310/oz; silver lost nearly twenty five cents/oz at just over $16.90/oz; platinum was down over $5/oz at just below $960/oz and palladium slipped a couple to just over $1,095/oz. The local gold price was also off nearly £5/oz at just below £970/oz.
