Base Metals - Prices moving up again, led by copper

BHP Billiton’s (BLT) comments on the coming Electric Vehicle revolution and its impact on copper demand provided the spark for another rally. The copper price has jumped five and a half US cents per pound ($/lb.) to $2.955/lb.; nickel is up a little at just over $4.65/lb.; aluminium is unchanged at 95.5 cents/lb.; lead gained one cent/lb. to $1.125/lb. and zinc is half a cent/lb. better at $1.44/lb.

If copper prices hold their gains by quarter end, this will represent its fifth quarterly rise in a row.
