Base Metals - It's still all about Chinese economic growth

Better Chinese economic data has prompted a turnaround in base metals prices following a weak start.

The copper price is up one and a half US cents per pound ($/lb.) at $2.98/lb.; nickel has rallied over five cents/lb. to just under $5.00/lb.; both aluminium and zinc are unchanged at 91 cents/lb. and $1.42/lb. respectively and lead has also rallied, but is still down one cent/lb. at $1.12/lb.
