Downfall of PSX - KSE 100 Index Nearing 52-Week Low!
Downward trend continued at the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on last trading session of the week. Indices slipped
lower and lower all day long with the benchmark KSE 100 index nearing its 52-week low. Equity markets around the
globe on the other hand showed positive trend.
- Uncertainty at political front and parliament moving closer to a vote of confidence motion dented
investors’ confidence.
- On economic front, according to latest data released by the Central Bank the country’s Total Liquid
Foreign Exchange Reserves were down by US$ 385 mn WoW. Net reserves with State Bank of Pakistan fell
by US$381 mn on weekly basis. While net reserves with Banks declined by US$ 5 mn.
- Moreover, as per latest data published by Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) the Sensitive Price Indicator
(SPI) for the week ended on 17th March, 2022 recorded a decrease of 1.37%. On YoY basis, an increase of
15.12% was reported.
