Singapore Extends Lockdown Following Rise in COVID-19 Cases

In this commentary, we discuss recent developments in Singapore, which suggest that nothing about the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) is certain and that a second wave of infection cannot be ruled out, even as countries across Europe are beginning to phase out the lockdown measures undertaken in response to the virus. Singapore has seen its COVID-19 caseload increase tenfold, from around 1000 cases on April 1 to 11,178 cases on April 23, with 12 fatalities.
