Blackstone Resources AG

(SWX: BLS; STU: 4BR, FRA: 4BR, BEB: 4BR)

Blackstone Resources AG (“BLS”) has decided to start a research and development programme on new battery technology.

The objective is to develop small and flat batteries for the mobile phone and laptop market. This technology would also have further potential applications across the broader battery market. A whole variety of tech metals will be tested. Any technological improvements in battery technology during the life of the project would also be incorporated.

The company intends to deliver its own tech metals from its own resources and processing facilities. A special production technique will be developed to use these tech metals for battery production at a later stage.

Blackstone Resources believes that automation production process could also save up to 70% of the actual manufacturing costs. Part of the research and development programme would be dedicated to maximising the efficiency of the production line.

Once fully operational, the company will start either its own production plants or it will partner up with other battery manufactures worldwide and receive a royalty stream.

This battery market has the potential to be a multi-billion dollar market.

Better-than-expected results

Better-than-expected results EARNINGS/SALES RELEASES 2019 ended on a good note for Blackstone Resources, with FY net attributable income of CHF5.31m vs. CHF22.6m loss in 2018. While the group’s respective (growth) projects remain work-in-progress, the on-going COVID-19 uncertainties are a pertinent concern. However, Blackstone’s positioning, targeting near-term cash flows from gold refining and battery R&D still in early stages – thereby benefiting from lower input costs, could render so...

An intriguing battery (materials) play, although execution is the key

An intriguing battery (materials) play, although execution is the key INITIATION COV. Blackstone Resources should soon start benefiting, in cash-flow terms, from the operational start of its mining, smelting and trading assets. While the group, in 2019, made an interesting bet in (EV) battery research and manufacturing, with the intention of leveraging its mining exposure to key battery materials, successful execution of business plans (which are in varying stages of implementation) remains th...
