The Dayton Power and Light Company (DP&L), a subsidiary of The AES Corporation (NYSE: AES), joined business leaders to announce that six top industrial sites are certified and ready for development in West Central Ohio. The remaining site is completing the final stages of the certification process.
Sidney Ohio Industrial Park, Amos Industrial Park (Sidney, Ohio), Dayton Resource Industrial Park, Midwest Mega Commerce Center, OVCH Park (Xenia, Ohio) and Xenia Ohio Industrial Park – Arnovitz Site have received their certified site designation. In process is the Washington Courthouse Industrial Park.

When a company considers a move or expansion, three factors come into play: speed, risk and money. Build-ready certified sites are designed to reduce risk, lower upfront costs and expedite the timeline allowing companies to be in operation faster. DP&L partnered with internationally-recognized site selection firm, McCallum Sweeney Consulting to offer a rigid site certification program for available industrial development sites in West Central Ohio. Among other criteria, certified site requirements include: available developable acreage, minimum excess utility capacities and accessibility to major highways and interstates.
The process went a step further to distinguish these properties as top available industrial sites to meet the needs of today’s site selectors. Working with local economic development partners (Dayton Development Coalition, JobsOhio, City of Dayton, City of Xenia, Fayette County Economic Development, Greene County Department of Development, Sidney-Shelby Economic Partnership) and the property owners, five key due diligence studies were conducted.
