BrightView Acquires California Bay Area’s Emerald Landscape Company

BrightView Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: BV) (“BrightView”), the leading commercial landscaping services company in the United States, today announced the acquisition of Emerald Landscape Company, Inc. (“Emerald”), a preeminent commercial landscaping company located in California’s Bay Area. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Emerald specializes in commercial landscape maintenance, enhancement, tree care, turf management and irrigation services, employing more than 200 highly skilled team members. It operates branches in the key Bay Area markets of Livermore, Hayward, Concord, San Jose, Manteca, and Tracy.

“From the outset, Emerald’s founders believed that the only way to run a business was to be proactive and provide outstanding customer service, and we think their approach will fit in perfectly with BrightView’s culture. Thanks in large part to their approach, they are one of the fastest growing landscape companies in the Bay Area,” said Andrew Masterman, BrightView Chief Executive Officer. “This transaction is a testament to our robust, strong-on-strong acquisition pipeline and puts BrightView on track to achieve its annualized maintenance revenue acquisition goal. We are delighted to welcome the Emerald team and their customers to BrightView and we look forward to continued growth and success in this important region.”

“I believe that Emerald shares much in common with BrightView and this transaction provides a strong platform to continue growing our customer base in the Bay Area. BrightView and Emerald both have a history of providing high levels of customer service, being an integral part of the communities in which we operate, and generating career opportunities for our team members. My team and I look forward to joining BrightView and we are excited about the continued growth potential of our region,” said Steve Jacobson, Emerald’s President and co-founder. Jacobson, along with his senior leadership team, will continue to run the day-to-day operation of Emerald’s existing branches.

Bullish Outlook Focused on Large- and Mid-Caps Considering constructive market dynamics and the recent S&P 500 (SPX) breakout above 5783 following several months of consolidation, we upgraded our outlook to bullish as of last week's U.S. Macro Vision report (10/15/24).
