"We are truly honored to welcome Sara Martinez Tucker to the Cornerstone board," said Phil Saunders, CEO, Cornerstone. "Sara’s vast leadership experience, particularly at the intersection of technology and education, will be an invaluable addition to our board as the company strengthens its ability to grow and provide the best experience, innovation, and support to our customers worldwide."

“Cornerstone’s proven leadership in the market and intense focus on profitable growth make this an incredibly positive time to join the company,” said Sara Martinez Tucker. “I look forward to leveraging my experience to help guide the company as it continues driving toward its goals.”

Tucker brings a highly successful and accomplished career in technology, science, education, and government to Cornerstone. Most recently, she served as CEO of the National Math + Science Initiative, an organization focused on improving student performance in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). In 2006, she was nominated and confirmed as the under secretary at the U.S. Department of Education, where she oversaw all policies, programs, and activities related to postsecondary education, vocational and adult education, and federal student aid. Tucker also spent nine years as the CEO and president of the Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF), where she pursued an aggressive goal to double the rate of Hispanics earning college degrees. Prior to that, Tucker spent 16 years at AT&T and became the first Latina to reach the company's executive level, first as the vice president of Consumer Operations and then as the regional vice president for AT&T's Global Business Communications Systems.

Tucker also has deep board experience. She currently serves on the boards of directors of American Electric Power, Nationwide, and Service Corporation International and serves on the University of Notre Dame’s Board of Fellows and Board of Trustees. She formerly served on the boards of Sprint and Xerox and was formerly the chairman of The University of Texas System Board of Regents.

In addition to this appointment, two directors, Elisa Steele and Kristina Salen, will not stand for re-election at the annual meeting. Upon the completion of these transitions, the board will include 10 members and will be co-chaired by Richard Haddrill and Cornerstone’s founder, Adam Miller.

“Elisa and Kristina have been instrumental in guiding Cornerstone through several dynamic years for the business,” said Adam Miller, co-chair of the Cornerstone Board of Directors. “We thank them for their support and wish them both well in their new endeavors.”
