BGE HOME and Constellation Home Team up with United Way to Give “A Gift of Warmth” to Local Families

This holiday season, four families in need will receive a much welcomed gift - a new high-efficiency heating and cooling system – thanks to the “A Gift of Warmth” program sponsored by BGE HOME, Constellation Home, United Way of Central Maryland, United Way of Frederick County and United Way of Lancaster County. Nominations are currently being accepted. If you know a deserving Maryland or central Pennsylvania resident that is in need of “A Gift of Warmth” this holiday season, visit bgehome.com/warmth or constellationhome.com/warmth to tell us their story.

“The holiday season can be much less bright for those without reliable heating. Through “A Gift of Warmth” we can remove the burden of repair costs and help to ease worry for a few local families,” said Tamla Olivier, president, BGE HOME. “It’s a privilege for BGE HOME and Constellation Home to be able to provide a comfortable living environment for deserving members of our community.”

Nominations will be accepted until Dec. 9. Homeowners in BGE HOME’s Maryland and Constellation Home’s Central Pennsylvania service territories are eligible. Winners will be announced in mid-December.

“BGE HOME is an active and generous leader in our community and has continuously demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to giving back,” said Sandy Monck, chief impact officer, United Way of Central Maryland. “We’re very grateful to them for supporting families this winter through their Gift of Warmth program.”

The heating and cooling systems will be donated by Trane and Carrier, and installed by certified BGE HOME technicians.

BGE HOME will also assist with select heating related calls to the 2-1-1 Maryland United Way Helpline this holiday season. United Way’s 2-1-1 Helpline provides unique community information referral services to people in need of food, shelter, job resources, health care, child care and other vital services. The 2-1-1 Maryland United Way Helpline is one of four 2-1-1 call centers in Maryland, and is available 24/7 in 150 languages. Anyone can dial 2-1-1 for free, confidential help.
