Global professional services firm Huron (NASDAQ: HURN) today announced that life sciences and strategy thought leader John Westwood has joined the company as managing director and global head of Huron’s life sciences practice. He will lead the team that partners with pharmaceutical, biotech and medical device organizations to develop strategies for innovating and delivering better medicines and outcomes for patients and healthcare providers and payers.

Westwood will provide leadership to Huron’s global life sciences experts as they guide clients through complex strategic, payer and regulatory challenges that cross the healthcare sector. He will focus on accelerating Huron’s growth in the pharmaceutical, biotech and medical device industries and continuing to expand its global business. This includes enhancing Huron’s support of life sciences organizations in the areas of strategy, pricing, reimbursement and transactions, while drawing on Huron’s expertise and presence in the healthcare and education sectors.
Westwood has more than 25 years of experience working with life sciences companies worldwide. He has advised more than 200 organizations on issues such as corporate and business unit strategy, commercialization strategies, portfolio design and transactions. Westwood most recently served as senior partner and managing director at L.E.K. Consulting, where he cofounded the firm’s life sciences practice and was responsible for its vision, strategy and operations.
Huron also announced today that for financial reporting purposes, its life sciences practice will be reported as part of its Business Advisory segment effective June 1.
