CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
Littelfuse, Inc., the global leader in circuit protection, today announced product updates to the Industrial Shock-Block® SB6100, Special-Purpose Ground-Fault Circuit-Interrupter (GFCI). Improvements to the Industrial Shock-Block® SB6100 include:
- The SB6100 Equipment Ground-Fault Protection Device (EGFPD) version has flexible protection with adjustable trip settings at 6 mA and from10 to 100 mA in increments of 10 mA to avoid nuisance tripping in high-noise applications such as welding.
- The SB6100 has an automatic self-test feature that ensures the unit is operating properly.
- The motor starter feature allows the user to start the motor from the device interface.
- Both SB6100 models (GFCI and EGFPD) are certified to CSA C22.2 No. 144-M91 Ground Fault Circuit Interrupters.
“According to OSHA, on average five workers are electrocuted weekly, and electrocution is the cause for 12 percent of young worker deaths in the workplace. With statistics such as these, it’s increasingly important to adopt safety devices like the SB6100 Industrial Shock-Block,” says Darrick Santa Maria, director of product management, Industrial Business Unit at Littelfuse.
About the SB6100 Series Industrial Shock-Block®
The SB6100 Series Industrial Shock-Block® is a GFCI, which meets UL 943C. Until now, GFCIs have not been practical in industrial settings. The SB6100 can be used on systems up to 600V and with much higher leakage current than residential GFCI devices. The SB6100 is available in a NEMA-4X UL-listed enclosure or as an open-chassis unit.
Applications for this product include electrical cabinets supplying power to pumps, washers, mixers and other areas where operators, electrical equipment and wet conditions are present.
