Brian Marsella Joins Mercer as Partner, Health & Benefits, in Chicago

Mercer, a global consulting leader in advancing health, wealth and careers, and a wholly owned subsidiary of Marsh & McLennan Companies (NYSE:MMC), announced today the appointment of Brian Marsella as a Partner in its Health & Benefits business. Based in Chicago, he will serve as a lead consultant, building new client relationships and consulting with large-market clients in the Midwest. He will report to Nancy Coletto, Partner and the Health & Benefits Business Leader for Chicago and Milwaukee.

Mr. Marsella joins Mercer with 24 years of experience in the healthcare industry. Most recently, he was Vice President, Large Case Sales and Producer Relations, Product & Marketing, at Aetna. Mr. Marsella spent 12 years at Aetna, where he held various roles of increasing responsibility, the majority of which focused on Aetna’s largest customers in the Midwest. Prior to Aetna, Mr. Marsella held various roles in underwriting, account management, and sales at Cigna for 12 years.

Mr. Marsella earned his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and his BA from the College of the Holy Cross. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Erie Family Health Center, a Federally Qualified Health Center whose mission is to provide quality, community responsive, cost effective primary healthcare services, regardless of ability to pay.
