Nabaltec AG achieves slight revenue growth and an EBIT margin of 10.8% in 2024 according to preliminary figures

• Consolidated revenues 2024 according to preliminary figures at EUR 203.6 million compared to EUR 200.1 million in the previous year (up 1.7%)
• Preliminary operating profit (EBIT) of EUR 22.3 million (2023: EUR 18.3 million)

Schwandorf, 11 March 2025 – According to preliminary figures, Nabaltec earned a revenue increase of 1.7% to EUR 203.6 million in the 2024 financial year (2023: EUR 200.1 million) and achieved strong growth in operating profit (EBIT) of 21.4% to EUR 22.3 million (2023: EUR 18.3 million). The EBIT margin (as a percentage of total performance) was 10.8%. The company achieved this despite the currently very challenging economic environment, particularly in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, which saw a 2% year-over-year decline in revenue.

“The results of the 2024 Financial Year demonstrate that, with our existing product portfolio and new product developments, we can occupy attractive application areas and markets with growth potential," reports Johannes Heckmann, CEO of Nabaltec AG. "The persistently weak economic and industry development, accompanied by slow demand in some target markets, were key reasons why we were unable to realize our full potential in 2024. We fell slightly short of our revenue forecast (growth in the range of 2% to 4%), but we are pleased that we were able to exceed our earnings target (EBIT margin in the range of 8% to 10%).

In the “Functional Fillers” product segment Nabaltec generated revenues according to preliminary figures of EUR 148.0 million in 2024, from EUR 142.3 million in the previous year. This corresponds to a growth of 4.0%. While sales volumes increased by 11.8% overall due to sustained demand, certain price concessions had to be made. Sales in the boehmites product range were disappointing, falling about a quarter short of the previous year's level. In the “Specialty Aluminas” product segment revenue 2024 amounted to EUR 55.6 million according to preliminary figures, down 3.9% from the previous year (EUR 57.8 million). In this segment, sales volume also increased slightly year-over-year (+2.3%). However, the continued weakness of the steel industry has not yet allowed for a significant improvement in momentum.

Nabaltec does not anticipate a significant improvement in the economic situation in the current financial year. The German Chemical Industry Association (VCI) also does not expect any recovery in the chemical industry in 2025. High production costs and increasing bureaucracy continue to pose major challenges for companies. Despite the difficult economic and industry-specific environment, Nabaltec expects revenue growth in the range of 3% to 5% and an EBIT margin between 7% and 9% for 2025.
