PANTALEON Films GmbH: Successful completion of the shooting of GENERATION BEZIEHUNGSUNFÄHIG - Date for cinema release of RÉSISTANCE - WIDERSTAND

Munich, July 10, 2020. PANTALEON Films, a wholly-owned film production subsidiary of PANTAFLIX AG (GSIN: , ISIN: ), announces the successful completion of the film shooting for the bestselling film version of GENERATION BEZIEHUNGSUNFÄHIG. Due to the restrictions by the health authorities to contain the coronavirus pandemic, the shooting had been paused between March and June. Now the time has finally come, and in compliance with the highest hygiene standards to protect all employees, the team of director Helena Hufnagel successfully completed the feature film project in co-production with Warner Bros. Entertainment and Brainpool TV.

The author Hilly Martinek (HONIG IM KOPF, ROCCA VERÄNDERT DIE WELT) and Helena Hufnagel were responsible for the script of GENERATION BEZIEHUNGSUNFÄHIG. The successful non-fiction book with the same name, published by Edel Verlag, was written by Michael Nast.

The focus is on Micha and Ghost, two city dwellers who are unwilling to be tied down, with Frederick Lau (DAS PERFEKTE GEHEIMNIS, NIGHTLIFE, 4 BLOCKS, VICTORIA) and Luise Heyer (DER JUNGE MUSS MUSS AN DIE FRISCHE LUFT, DAS SCHÖNSTE PAAR, EINMAL BITTE ALL). In addition, the cast includes Henriette Confurius (GOLDEN TWENTIES, THE COLD HEART), Maximilian Brückner (WONDERFUL, HINDAFING, THE BEST PAIR), Verena Altenberger (MAGDA MAKES THE GREATEST OF ALL WORLDS) and Tedros Teclebrhan (BAD BANKS, SYSTEM SPRENGER).

Short Description
Like most singles of his generation, Micha has a "problem": he is apparently unable to have a relationship. But he just uses this status to justify his lifestyle. After dating, he no longer calls and prefers to swiped to the next woman, who hopefully looks the same as on her profile photo. But when he falls in love with his female reflection, Ghost, he suddenly finds himself on the other side of dating-hell. And while Micha still believes that he is acting extremely smart with his advances, he is already been ghosted by her. Unfortunately, Ghost has no desire for a romantic Micha.

The film receives production funding and success loans from the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW, the FilmFernsehFonds Bayern, the Deutscher Filmförderfonds, the Filmförderungsanstalt and the Mitteldeutsche Medienförderung. The cinema release is scheduled for March 25, 2021, and it is distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures.

Cinema Release of TAKEOVER - VOLL VERTAUSCHT
PANTALEON Films also reports success with other projects. On July 2, another production from Warner Bros. Pictures distribution, TAKEOVER - VOLL VERTAUSCHT, celebrated its cinema release and immediately achieved the second place in the German cinema rankings. Besides Roman and Heiko Lochmann, the cast includes Lisa-Marie Koroll, Luna Marie Maxeiner, Alexandra Neldel, Kai Wiesinger, Jürgen Heinrich and Thore Schölermann. Florian Ross directed; Tim Gondi wrote the script.

Cinema Start in Germany of RÉSISTANCE - WIDERSTAND scheduled
While TAKEOVER - VOLL VERTAUSCHT is now running in German cinemas, the start of the first international PANTALEON Films production RÉSISTANCE - WIDERSTAND is still pending. After the release in US cinemas in March 2020 of the heroic story of the mime Marcel Marceau, the film will also hit the big screen in Germany on September 3, 2020. The direction by Jonathan Jakubowicz brings Jesse Eisenberg (Marcel Marceau) and Matthias Schweighöfer (Klaus Barbie, head of the Gestapo in Lyon) in front of the cameras. Furthermore, other first-class actors such as Ed Harris, Édgar Ramírez, Félix Moati, Bella Ramsey, Géza Röhrig and Karl Markovics will be in the cast. RÉSISTANCE - WIDERSTAND was produced by PANTALEON Films GmbH in cooperation with Epicentral Studios, Rocket Science, Vertical Media, Neptune Features, Riverstone, Ingenious Media and Bliss Media. Resistance Film US and Warner Bros. Film Productions Germany were the co-producers.
