Progress (NASDAQ: PRGS) today announced that Your Move, one of the UK’s leading estate agents and letting agents, is using the Progress® OpenEdge® development platform to create a bespoke rental management system and customer portal. By modernizing its core systems to enable employees, landlords and tenants to readily access account and listing information, the company has garnered a significant ROI in just seven months.

As one of the UK’s largest providers of residential services, including estate agency, rentals, valuations and mortgage advice services, Your Move needed to ensure that its landlord and tenant customers were able to easily access relevant, up-to-date information. Your Move wanted to replace its existing rental management system with a modern Graphical User Interface (GUI) that provided online access to live internet listings and a range of management dashboards that could be updated iteratively. Other key requirements for Your Move included compliance with strict and changing regulation and the ability to create in-depth business reports.

Working with Progress partner Pace IT, Your Move was able to develop and deploy an all-new rental management system that garnered a ROI in just seven months.

The system included a set of 15 new live management dashboards for monitoring information such as rental payment statuses and open maintenance jobs. The rental management system was integrated with a separately hosted customer portal that could pull down information from the core system in real time.

By moving to web-based records that can easily be checked anywhere, landlords are able to manage their properties and works more effectively. Similarly, the portal gives tenants the capacity to quickly check the status of these jobs and save calling landlords, making life easier for both parties.
