Skeljungur hf.: A new organizational chart and the appointment of a new Chief Financial Officer

NEW ORGANIZATIONAL CHART

The Board of Directors of Skeljungur hf. decided today, in accordance with CEO’s proposal, to make certain changes to the company’s organizational chart. As part of the changes made the sales division will now be divided into two separate divisions, a commercial sales division and a consumer sales division. Þórður Guðjónsson will continue to lead commercial sales, handling all B2B-operations, while CEO Árni Pétur Jónsson, will lead the consumer sales. Gróa Björg Baldvinsdóttir, Skeljungur’s head of legal, will join the executive committee. Már Erlingsson will continue in his role as Chief Operating Officer and Vice-CEO of Skeljungur hf. Ólafur Þór Jóhannesson joins the company as Chief Financial Officer. He will lead the finance division which will now include IT, HR, administration and accounting. The administration and communications division has been made redundant. Marketing which used to belong to that division will now become part of the consumer sales division which, as previously mentioned, is going to be directly led by CEO Árni Pétur Jónsson.

A NEW CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

Ólafur Þór Jóhannesson has been appointed the new Chief Financial Officer of Skeljungur hf.

THE EXECUTIVE MANAGEMENT OF SKELJUNGUR

  • Árni Pétur Jónsson, CEO
  • Gróa Björg Baldvinsdóttir, Head of Legal
  • Már Erlingsson, Chief Operating Officer and Vice-CEO
  • Ólafur Þór Jóhannesson, Chief Financial Officer
  • Þórður Guðjónsson, Chief Commercial Officer

Árni Pétur Jónsson, CEO of Skeljungur:

“With the changed organizational chart for Skeljungur we’re separating commercial sales from consumer sales. Simultaneously we intend to emphasis more on our brand Orkan, which was the first low-cost brand for consumer fuel sales in Iceland. It is my opinion that the company has the opportunity to strengthen its position in the fuel market.

It is a very good news to have Ólafur Þór to join our organisation. I believe that his many skills and long experience will prove invaluable to Skeljungur in our coming endeavours. Ólafur is a Certified Public Accountant and has previous experience as CFO of a listed company on the Icelandic Stock Exchange. I consider Ólafur to be an important member of the company’s management.

The decision to increase the number of members in the management, from four to five, gives us broader perspective than before, more diverse team. Gróa Björg has been with Skeljungur for almost 3 years and has proven that she is a very skilled manager. She enters the management with her knowledge and experience. To have such a capable woman join our leadership team will prove important for this organisation.”
